TaylorMade SIM Fairway Pro Review

TaylorMade has really thrown the kitchen sink into this fairway wood by combining the latest technology with a great throwback to the V steel design that we saw successfully used a few years ago. This V steel design reduces turf interaction allowing for cleaner strikes from a wide range of lies. The other tech, however, is even more exciting. In addition to the twist face technology that promotes a straighter ball flight, even with off centre hits, we also see a zatech ultra strong titanium face that allows for a faster face and therefore more distance. This is also TaylorMade’s only adjustable fairway wood and can be moved 2 degrees either way to match a golfer’s preference.

Who is the SIM Fairway For?

In fittings it is really noticeable that this club is long and straight. With this however, comes a word of caution – this thing goes miles so make sure it isn’t too close to your driver in terms of distance. With this in mind, if you’re a golfer who prefers a fairway metal to a driver then this really is for you.

Any insider tips?

These are for many golfers a long 3 wood so make sure you’re putting the club in the bag for all the right reasons i.e, to give another distance and playability option after the driver. So whilst it might be tempting to dial this thing down to 12 be aware it might be wary of a gap it may leave. That said, if you’re not a driver guy or girl let it launch!
