A great feature of modern driver ranges is the incorporation of draw biased models into the line ups. Now the technology isn’t new but often many of these driver heads were unsightly with huge offsets and little or less head technology. The beauty now is that much of this draw biased technology exists within the framework of the rest of the driver range.
The Epic Max sees some great technology as seen in the other two models in the 2021 Epic range including the AI improved Jailbreak technology, used to maximise ball speeds as well as the flash face. The driver also benefits from a slightly heavier adjustable head weight which Callaway claims can change ball flight by up to 20 yards. The main difference here, however, is that the club is already draw biased with a high MOI, thanks to the positioning of weight within the head. So what we have is a club that can be adjusted to make real ball flight corrections with a fast clubface. In a nutshell, forgiving and fast.
I would imagine this driver in the hands of a player who struggles with a left to right curvature (in a right-handed player) who wants help to launch the ball high. There may also be the chance a player wants an adjustable driver but doesn’t have the swing speed for the Epic Max LS. The club is able to be fully custom fit and if you require any help with this, please do not hesitate to contact a JamGolf PGA Professional.
