Asymmetric Sole Shape & Inertia Generator

Designed to provide faster clubhead speed for more ball speed and distance while the rear weight creates high MOI for improved forgiveness. The reshaped sole design delivers more clubhead speed and enhanced aerodynamics at the most critical stage of the swing. The Inertia Generator positions weight at the extreme rear for increased forgiveness and is strategically angled at 20° to reduce drag on the downswing. 

Speed Injected™

Improves ball speed across the face by calibrating each head to the threshold of the legal speed limit. Each SIM driver head has been individually calibrated and injected to reach the threshold of the maximum legal limit of ball speed. 

Twist Face®

Uses corrective face angles designed to overcome inherent golfer tendencies on mis-hits and to produce straighter shots. The revolutionary face curvature reduces sidespin and delivers straighter shots on off-centre strikes.

Sliding Weight Technology and Adjustable Loft Sleeve™

TaylorMade SIM Driver Review

At first glance the SIM is a very unique looking driver. The futuristically named ‘Inertia Generator’ gives the driver this new look from the bottom but from the top the driver looks like another TaylorMade classic with a great new colour scheme. This combined with the stock HZRDUS green shaft and Golf Pride Z grip as standard creates a driver that shouts hit me.

The aforementioned Inertia Generator has been introduced to move weight to the very back of the club with the ultimate aim of increasing forgiveness whilst reducing drag in the downswing which helps increase ball speed. Having hit a few myself it is fair to say that this is a fast driver and even some pretty average shots saw the ball end up on target.
The SIM driver range features progressively larger faces with the SIM being the smallest of the heads. The head is also the only adjustable model with a sliding weight on the head for those players looking to add a draw or fade bias to their driver.

This is without doubt another great TaylorMade driver. I would say that this driver is at the lower handicap end of the spectrum and for those players who really want to customise their driver.
