Cobra F-Max Irons
The designers and engineers at Cobra have been listening to the needs of all golfers and have recognised the needs of those with slower swing speeds. Rather than releasing continuous iterations of the most technologically advanced clubs that are only utilised to their fullest by golfers with ridiculously low handicaps they have focused on golfers that are working hard to improve their game. With that directive in mind the new Cobra F-Max irons have been developed to promote ease of launch and forgiveness.
There are a few very distinct adaptations that have been made to the design of these irons but first the overall changes. Like the rest of the range of F-Max clubs these irons have lighter shafts, larger grips and lighter swing weight to allow for faster swing speeds for the same given effort. Now onto the specific changes.
The F-Max Irons have a much deeper undercut in the clubhead which pushes the centre of gravity lower and towards the heel. This CG position improves launch and the deeper undercut makes the face flex more to impart more speed to the ball when hit off centre. Rather than use a consistent material throughout the iron set Cobra have changed the material to alter the effect depending on which iron is selected. The longer irons have a thinner 17-4 stainless steel face that promotes distance and speed while the shorter irons use a softer, 431 stainless steel face for improved precision and feel.
